What do you get when you add clear blue skies, a boutique pink building, and a surprise jazz band leading the party people from ceremony to the 1.5 hour long cocktail party? DANA + KYLE'S WEDDING. I know the day was a wedding, but my heart wants to call it so many other things.
A festivity. Celebration. Bash. Hoopla. A freakin' JAMBOREE.
Dana and Kyle met while Dana was celebrating being a total boss (she had just taken the LSAT) with her friends at one of Kyle’s alumni bars. Four years of falling in love and celebrating life together later, Kyle proposed on the cliffs of Cabrillo National Park – very much like the cliffs you see in their wedding photos.
Tying the knot with the blue Pacific ocean views as a backdrop was a dream for these two, and WOW did La Valencia Hotel in La Jolla deliver! This boutique venue brings the party itself with its pink colors and drool-worthy Mediterranean tiles (quite the nod to their Grecian honeymoon!), and greenery with splashes of gorgeous color everywhere. I feel like this space was made just for their wedding.
Dana and Kyle are all about celebrating moments with their people and that’s exactly how they spent their special day – by truly immersed themselves and making sure they were present for it all. Their dreams came true as we ventured to the cliffs for some sunshiney portraits before exploring all the nooks and crannies that La Valencia had to offer.
After saying “I do!”, these two kick-started their once-in-a-lifetime kind of party by joining everyone for their entire cocktail. Excuse me while I fangirl over a timeline like theirs that allows couples to eat those cocktail appetizers and experience all aspects of their wedding day!
The day felt exactly right, and EXACTLY like them. Full of life, full of energy, and full of spark. Dana and Kyle, may you always celebrate life together the way you did on your wedding day… creating sparks of joy everywhere you go.
